PUBLIC ORDER FEAR

Welsh three-piece Public Order have dropped their second single in the form of ‘Fear’. The band manage to channel the sound of early Britpop via the rave scene of the 90s into something that would feel just as at home in the world of a gritty Chemical Brothers club night as it would at a back-room-of-a-pub Stone Roses gig. Gritty guitars and breakbeat drums have been combined before, but rarely this convincingly. “I think ‘Fear’ for us was all about raising the question on how people’s social media followings affected your overall outlook of a person,” they explain. This single follows their debut single, ‘Feels Like Summer’, which took the band from obscurity and straight into the FIFA 22 soundtrack. -Dan Peeke
